Quote

"When I got to the museum , all of the sudden I wouldn't have gone inside for a million bucks." That whole time walking to the museum through the park thinking about and remembering everything about it. He was excited to go too but getting there and actually having to go through with something he didn't do it. He doesn't seem like he ever goes through with things in his life. Holden gives up on them and just neglects the ideas of doing it. I don't understand why. He needs to be pushed by someone to actually complete one thing in his life. Maybe that's why it's so miserable because nobody pushes him to succeed.

Marriage

Marriage defines love. Love at first sight. From "Till death do us part". Or divorce is the what's right. Some love lasts. Others don't. Some people marry for love. Some people for wealth. I want to meet that perfect guy, Who can provide them both. Before its time to say "I do". Find the right guy and it's all through.

Third post

The first sentence made me think of him right away because he never ever follows the law of another. He goes the way he wants to. He doesn't let people run his life like its a game. I really don't get Better is death in the fulfillment it didn't make since to me. But I can really connect him to the first sentence. My favorite quote is "Don't be pushed by your problems, be led by your dreams." I don't know how it is by but it's my favorite. It kind of connects to him because once again he isn't pushed by his problems even though thinking about other people and judge them pushes you to be like other people. Like a phonie. He doesn't really have a dream well not that I know of at least well maybe getting ahold and seeing Jane is his dream.

Second onee

Holden seems to grieve over his brother a lot it seems to still hurt him to this day. If i ever lost someone that was close to me like that I would of reacted the same way he did. He had anger come out. Grief I don't even know what to say about it. I have a lot of grief I guess.

First post

I really don't know how I feel about this book yet, but the way you are in his head confuses me a lot. Because he goes back and forth with things from the past then again starts talking about his feelings. The head is like that though you go back and forh through your thoughts so you can really connect how he feels and how he sees people. He seems to point out everyone's flaws such as Ackley the first thing he starts to say about him was his pimples and his disgusting behaviors he has. I really don't understand how this book is banned and how people shun against it. I see nothing wrong with it but knowing how people were in the 50's it's understandable thinking that it was like Pleasantville where people want to be perfect families but no family will ever be. Holden seems like a troubled kid. I think it's because his parents throwing him into these all boy boarding school. He must feel some neglect from thinking they don't want to be around and being kicked out of other schools and not caring about his grades failing 4 out of 5 classes or not caring about losing the equipment, laughing about it. I would be acting out too. I feel like he just wants attention from them he is begging for them to notice him that's what I think. It I don't know what to think about this book and only what's it about. No idea yet.
